Terri's Eggnog

Terri was kind enough to bring some of this over a couple Christmases ago and it was easily the best eggnog I've ever had. Not for times when you're trying to stay sober.

12 egg yolks
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 pint bourbon
1 pint rum
2 cups rye whiskey
1 qt. milk
1 cup sweet sherry
1 qt. vanilla ice cream
2 cups heavy cream
3 cups confectioners sugar
6 egg whites
nutmeg

Beat yolks until fluffy and light. Add 1 cup sugar. While stirring, slowly add rum, rye, bourbon, and milk. Reserve 2 tbs sherry. Blend remaining sherry and ice cream. Beat into egg mixture. Whip cream until it forms peaks. Whip in confectioners sugar and fold in 2 tbs sherry. Set aside. Beat egg whites until stiff and dry. Add remaining 1/2 cup sugar. Sprinkle with nutmeg. Fold whipped cream into yolk mixture. Top with egg white mixture. Serve cold.
